A few weeks ago, I asked people to send my Life Coach three things that they like about me and three things they would like me to improve on. It was scary for me to do this assignment because I was afraid of what people had to say about me. I think it is a great exercise to do from time to time because things become known to you that you might not have been aware of.
When I read the feedback, there were things that I would agree on and things that stung a little bit. After processing the information with my coach, he told me that I can't dwell on every little thing that people say to me because it would really weigh me down. I just have to take it with a grain of salt and move on. It is just feedback. I can either take it and make a change, or I can leave it and do nothing at all. I want to make a change. I just need to evaluate where these perceptions are coming from and make better decisions with my words and actions.
I value the relationships I have with these people and their opinions of me. I feel fortunate that people care enough about me to take the time to help me become a better person. Thank you!
