Staying Active

Today, I am thankful for my mobility.  I am able to walk on a treadmill and as a result, I have lost about 70 lbs. I probably wouldn't have been able to do that if I wasn't pushed to walk as a kid.   When I was growing up, my mom made me stand up when I was watching television and it helped my legs get stronger and helped my bones grow. I hated it at the time, but I'm glad that she made me do it. I walked with a walker until second grade and when my balance improved, I started using crutches and I have been using crutches ever since.  Staying active is important to me and I try to walk as much as I can.
