Remembering September 11. 2001

On this day 12 years ago, I remember thinking how

beautiful it was outside. It was a Tuesday and the sky was

so blue.  I was in Homeroom in high school when I

heard someone say, "the towers are on fire." I had no idea

what that meant, so I just continued to do what I was doing.

The bell rang to go to my next class, which was Biology, and

the teacher had the television on. Her eyes were glued to it.

That was when we saw the 2nd airplane hit on live

television, and that was the most horrifying thing I have ever

seen.

For the rest of the day,  I couldn't concentrate in any

of my classes and all I wanted to do was go home. The

teachers tried to make their classes as normal as they

could, but it was difficult. Today, we remember the victims,

families, and first responders, who risked their lives to save

others.  While I am fortunate that I did not know anyone

who was killed that day, my heart goes out to the people

who did know someone.  Never forget 9/11/01 <3
